Katharine Hepburn - whoo hoo!
Oct. 14th, 2008 | 03:23 pm
You are a Katharine -- "I am happy and open to new things"
Katharines are energetic, lively, and optimistic. They want to contribute to the world.
How to Get Along with Me
- * Give me companionship, affection, and freedom.
- * Engage with me in stimulating conversation and laughter.
- * Appreciate my grand visions and listen to my stories.
- * Don't try to change my style. Accept me the way I am.
- * Be responsible for youself. I dislike clingy or needy people.
- * Don't tell me what to do.
What I Like About Being a Katharine
- * being optimistic and not letting life's troubles get me down
- * being spontaneous and free-spirited
- * being outspoken and outrageous. It's part of the fun.
- * being generous and trying to make the world a better place
- * having the guts to take risks and to try exciting adventures
- * having such varied interests and abilities
What's Hard About Being a Katharine
- * not having enough time to do all the things I want
- * not completing things I start
- * not being able to profit from the benefits that come from specializing; not making a commitment to a career
- * having a tendency to be ungrounded; getting lost in plans or fantasies
- * feeling confined when I'm in a one-to-one relationship
Katharines as Children Often
- * are action oriented and adventuresome
- * drum up excitement
- * prefer being with other children to being alone
- * finesse their way around adults
- * dream of the freedom they'll have when they grow up
Katharines as Parents
- * are often enthusiastic and generous
- * want their children to be exposed to many adventures in life
- * may be too busy with their own activities to be attentive

1. Comment on this post.
2. I will give you a letter.
3. Think of 5 fictional characters and post their names and your comments on these characters in your LJ.
I was given the letter F
1. Fred Weasley - I love twins and these guys were awesome!
2. Fantine - Can't go wrong with Les Miserables! (the musical - I tried reading the book and skipped over a lot of the French war parts!)
3. Faith - the Vampire Slayer... sure she was a little psycho but she redeemed herself and she looks good kicking butt!
4. Kaywinnit Lee Frye - Kaylee, aka one of the best characters ever! from Firefly/Serenity. What's not to love - spunk, innocence and brains?
5. the Flash - I love Superheroes and, at least in the cartoon, the Flash is funny and cocky yet still sweet and heroic

Live well, ride fast, and die young, baby!
Well, you turned out to be something of a rogue. This may not be exactly the life you wanted... but it's difficult to place people who want to enjoy all the romance and intrigue of civilization, without actually having a demanding job. Besides, since you enjoy the benefits of humanity so much more than you enjoy the press of humanity itself... you shouldn't have much trouble with your role in life. As long as you aren't afraid of danger there's a place for you in society, even if it's a rather dark and wicked place. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to fulfill the role of a spy.
The good news: You're free and clever, and you can do whatever the heck you want. The bad news: everybody else is free and clever too, and they're not all on your side.
With the flick of a blade, you can change the course of history. Might be fun. Might be a little messy.

Last night was fighter practice - I got a couple of bouts in with almost everyone (granted there wasn't a lot but...) Where were YOU, Konrad? You were in armor last night and you didn't play with me! Although I did get some good pointers/advice/crits that were helpful and I'm trying to put some advice to use that I got at TOC. I'm also training a new fighter that seems very eager to learn. Watch out, everyone - the Fen is getting a new female fighter! Grrr! Last week we had quite a few new people in armor but I think they opted for Dance Night.
This weekend is Pounce - Duke Edmund is goin' down! (Trying to sound like one of those big, hairy pro wrestlers!)
The office sucks right now. I work in a financial advising place and with the markets the way they are - well, lets just say everyone is cranky!

I miss TV theme songs! Hello, Greatest American Hero, anyone? I love 80's themes, especially... A-Team, MacGyver, Facts of Life... aah, just hearing those make me think of happier times sitting in front of the TV and just being a kid! (Yes, I'm THAT old, no, I won't tell you exactly how old!) I loved the Love Boat/Fantasy Island block. Even cheezy sit-coms with their canned laughter. The fashions and hairstyles I can do away with but the theme songs... bring 'em on!
With the passing of another Pennsic war it makes me think of autumn peeking around the corner. I love autumn with the colors and smells. Halloween is my favorite holiday, ever! I was thinking of the old fashion Baroness from G.I. Joe for my costume this year. Either that or go back to last years idea of Harley Quinn. I have grand ideas but little follow through!
Pennsic was great this year! I got to see two very fine and worthy people get elevated to Knight - congrats, Pellinor and Gunnar! I was sooo happy! The Unbelts were fabulous - the fight was amazing! I tried to volunteer as much as I could and still fight all the war points. I got gakked in the throat in the last battle on Friday so I made some interested cat-hairball noises. It was really embarrassing and they had to call a hold for me. All I wanted to do was slink off the field with my dignity but alas, that was not allowed! "Do you want us to call transport?" "*croak* NO!" Oh, well... another year to prove to everyone I meet that fighting IS fun and yes you should do it!

HAVE A WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY, TO MY ALEX!!
Your result for Which Chess Piece are You Test? ...
The Queen's Knight
Congrats! Only 4-5% of the population score this!

The Queen’s Knight is armed with rose-colored glasses. The mundane comes to life and nature becomes expressive of spirit. The interesting thing about this Knight is the ability to switch from fantasy to reality. There are exceptions to the rule, but this is the type that may have had imaginary friends as a youngster. Their stuffed animals also were great companions. The Queen’s Knight will see the good in almost anyone or anything – but their depth of emotion can remain hidden even from themselves. Circumstances tend to reveal sudden responses.
Not all life is rosy and this Knight is not exempt from disappointment or frustration with humanity. They may feel incompetence when dealing with their own ethical values. Things aren’t simply white black, but a grand battle of Good versus Evil. Evil must be reckoned with but Good shall eventually win. It is not that they fight evil, but that they fight for the essence of moral good. Doing something good is quite satisfactory for them and indeed increases their happiness. It is when something is not reciprocated to them that they are saddened and disappointed by others. They learn that others aren’t as self-sacrificing.
The Queen's Knight is dominated by an inner world of intense feeling and deeply rooted ethics. They seek to form their life based on their views. They are highly curious of those around them so are readily accepting of others unless their values are being threatened. They promote insight and understanding amongst others and contribute well thought ideas. They however can be a bit too idealistic.
Quickly! Before the monkeys come: Take Which Chess Piece are You Test?

I'm not some major geek that collects action figures and keeps them mint-in-box or anything (I actually take mine out and play with them - er, pose them!) Except for my Princess Leia collection - I don't take those out for nuthin'! Anyway, playing around on the internet (aka, "working") I found these custom figures that was just too cool not to share with Lubey.

<P>You are Measure for Measure. Originally classified as a comedy but now regarded amongst the "Problem Plays", Measure for Measure is a story of truth, justice, mercy, forgiveness, and humility. What your score tells us about you is that you are most likely an outgoing person, who believes in doing what is right. While you may sometimes abuse your power in certain situations, for the most part you are kind-hearted and sincere. Not that abusing your power is necessarily a bad thing. Remember, as the play tells us "some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall." We just want to make sure you don't get too greedy for power and end up like that Macbeth guy! </P></DIV><table cellpadding=20><tr><td><!--t-->Link: <a href='http://www.okcupid.com/tests/18119

I am not a gardener by ANY stretch of the imagination but I'm going to try this year. I love veggies and in the summer there is nothing better than a tomato sandwich. Wish me luck!
I'm trying to get my groove back, fighting-wise. I have the shield work down, now if I could remember to use hips when I throw my shots! I can't generate power. It's driving me insane! I swing and whiff - it's frustrating me. I'm trying to do excercises for arm strength but at the same time I don't want arms like cannons. Don't get me wrong, it's hot on men but hey, look at Madonna! *shiver* I'm starting to get all excited for melee season. (Starting? Oh, who am I kidding! I always love melee season!) I'm even looking at my calendar going "hmmm, well nothing's planned for that weekend, I can swing Border Skirmish in WI, if I don't go to Border War... we'll see!") 'Course, that means sleeping in my car but that's the beauty of an Aztec, I've done it before and being small, it's not so bad! I'm going to see if I can't increase the number of events I go to this year.
I I still don't know how to play with my Bamboo Fun! I I may not know how to work it but I've signed my name a lot! I have lots and lots of ideas for my artistic/writing muse but nothing is coming out on paper. Ugh. I looove procrastina... hey, look! A bird!

This week I'm dog-sitting for a friend. The darn dog wouldn't let me sleep! I'm just going to have to sleep at my house and let the dog out frequently. It's a black lab but I'm not used to dogs like that being big spazzes!
Nothing much is happening, though. I keep finding the 5 pounds I keep losing! Grrr! I can't wait until outdoor melee starts! I wanna get out there and have some fun! I also have a date-thing this weekend that sounds like fun... we'll see!
I bought a new toy for my laptop - a Bamboo Fun. I just have to figure it out. I'm still working on my graphic novel but as usual, I'm all talk! But someday Gunslinger Daisy WILL see the light of day!

I SUUUCKED this weekend! Grumph... I was trying so hard not to psyche myself out by being the Bob that I think I overdid it and psyched myself out anyway. But darnit! I made most of them earn their wins! I did have fun, though, and I suppose THAT'S the important part. My armor is thisclose to being finished - Baron Conol told me some embellishments I could do and I know of other things I should do so I know what my next projects are! I also got some rattan so I can make a polearm so I'm excited! Maybe I can get more power with that!

I LOOOOOVE this guy! I didn't even CHEAT to get this answer so yay, me! In 3 1/2 days I'll be in Florida! I'm going to Disney with Mom and big sis, then the cruise so I'm very excited! (Obviously, I'd be MORE excited if I were going with Dean...!) I'm ticked that I'll miss fighter practice but hopefully I won't be forgotten. So, hey! Lubeck! I still wanna play with you guys! I can't wait to see everyone at Val Day and Candlemas and I'm sad that I'm not going to Regular Event, especially since it's a TOC. Grrr! We had guests at our fighter practice on Thursday and now I'm raring to go with the melee season again!
