Things are not going well in Magrat-land. As usual. I'm trying but nothing wants to go as smoothly as I hope. Instead of boring you all with my doldrums I'll post about something that's been irking me lately.

I miss TV theme songs! Hello, Greatest American Hero, anyone? I love 80's themes, especially... A-Team, MacGyver, Facts of Life... aah, just hearing those make me think of happier times sitting in front of the TV and just being a kid! (Yes, I'm THAT old, no, I won't tell you exactly how old!) I loved the Love Boat/Fantasy Island block. Even cheezy sit-coms with their canned laughter. The fashions and hairstyles I can do away with but the theme songs... bring 'em on!

With the passing of another Pennsic war it makes me think of autumn peeking around the corner. I love autumn with the colors and smells. Halloween is my favorite holiday, ever! I was thinking of the old fashion Baroness from G.I. Joe for my costume this year. Either that or go back to last years idea of Harley Quinn. I have grand ideas but little follow through!

Pennsic was great this year! I got to see two very fine and worthy people get elevated to Knight - congrats, Pellinor and Gunnar! I was sooo happy! The Unbelts were fabulous - the fight was amazing! I tried to volunteer as much as I could and still fight all the war points. I got gakked in the throat in the last battle on Friday so I made some interested cat-hairball noises. It was really embarrassing and they had to call a hold for me. All I wanted to do was slink off the field with my dignity but alas, that was not allowed! "Do you want us to call transport?" "*croak* NO!" Oh, well... another year to prove to everyone I meet that fighting IS fun and yes you should do it!

The mundane comes to life and nature becomes expressive of spirit. The interesting thing about this Knight is the ability to switch from fantasy to reality. There are exceptions to the rule, but this is the type that may have had imaginary friends as a youngster. Their stuffed animals also were great companions. The Queen’s Knight will see the good in almost anyone or anything – but their depth of emotion can remain hidden even from themselves. Circumstances tend to reveal sudden responses.

Not all life is rosy and this Knight is not exempt from disappointment or frustration with humanity. They may feel incompetence when dealing with their own ethical values. Things aren’t simply white black, but a grand battle of Good versus Evil. Evil must be reckoned with but Good shall eventually win. It is not that they fight evil, but that they fight for the essence of moral good. Doing something good is quite satisfactory for them and indeed increases their happiness. It is when something is not reciprocated to them that they are saddened and disappointed by others. They learn that others aren’t as self-sacrificing.

The Queen's Knight is dominated by an inner world of intense feeling and deeply rooted ethics. They seek to form their life based on their views. They are highly curious of those around them so are readily accepting of others unless their values are being threatened. They promote insight and understanding amongst others and contribute well thought ideas. They however can be a bit too idealistic.

Quickly!
Well, Baron Wars has come and gone. I did a lot here and there but I don't really feel like I did enough. *sigh* BUT, I did get to fight - a first for me at Baron Wars! Whoo-hoo! I'm afraid I made a dork of myself by getting a tad angry at one point - apparently bad enough that the King (gently) reproached me. I think I have too much going on in my head to fight so next time I'll stick to staff positions. On the whole, though, it wasn't a bad event and I had fun hanging with my homies! (O.k., I know - NEVER do that again!) I was so nervous carrying the throne from the battlefield to the rapier tent! I had visions of me going over a bump and making the thing fall and turn into regal kindling! I really enjoyed helping HRM Tessa - I need to do that more often 'cause she's a great lady! (I'll even promise to drive slower next time...!) I want a golf cart. Those things are awesome! Even traveling down into the thrown weapons/archery area was fun! Thank you, God for the nice weather on Saturday! Cleaning up in the rain wasn't so fun and apparently neither is hypothermia... eh, what are you gonna do? I loved playing with friends I don't get to see as often as I'd like and all the awards were well deserved! Hoobah, Skippy, Poppy, Margaret, Wheezy, Thumper, and crap, everyone else! (Oh! And I got a Willow!) I wanted to send a special "thank you" out to Elizabethe for making garbage/trash detail on Sunday morning bearable!

Next up, Chaos Caravan - if the gas prices don't kill me! And the weekend after that, major chick-stich-n-bitch! Whee!

Your Score: Measure for Measure

You scored 29% = Tragic, 57% = Comic, 27% = Romantic, 43% = Historic

You are Measure for Measure. Originally classified as a comedy but now regarded amongst the "Problem Plays", Measure for Measure is a story of truth, justice, mercy, forgiveness, and humility. What your score tells us about you is that you are most likely an outgoing person, who believes in doing what is right. While you may sometimes abuse your power in certain situations, for the most part you are kind-hearted and sincere. Not that abusing your power is necessarily a bad thing. Remember, as the play tells us "some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall."
A nice kid from Office Depot came in to the office just now. Usually I try to find some polite way to blow off the people that walk in off the streets to hawk their wares but he brought me presents! I loooove office supplies (bonus for working IN an office, I suppose - that, and I can actually take the time to write to you people!) I got a blank disc in a pretty case, pens, a glue stick, paper clips, that cool white-out tape thing and post-it notes - in orange! Purrr, I love post-it notes! Oh! And a bag of microwave popcorn - yay! Now I have lunch! :-D And it was all in a cute plastic bag-thing! Did I mention I loooove office supplies? (It runs a close 2nd to art supplies!)

This week I'm dog-sitting for a friend. The darn dog wouldn't let me sleep! I'm just going to have to sleep at my house and let the dog out frequently. Grumph... I was trying so hard not to psyche myself out by being the Bob that I think I overdid it and psyched myself out anyway. But darnit! I made most of them earn their wins! I did have fun, though, and I suppose THAT'S the important part. My armor is thisclose to being finished - Baron Conol told me some embellishments I could do and I know of other things I should do so I know what my next projects are! I also got some rattan so I can make a polearm so I'm excited! Maybe I can get more power with that!

(Obviously, I'd be MORE excited if I were going with Dean...!) I'm ticked that I'll miss fighter practice but hopefully I won't be forgotten. So, hey! Lubeck! I still wanna play with you guys! I can't wait to see everyone at Val Day and Candlemas and I'm sad that I'm not going to Regular Event, especially since it's a TOC. Grrr! We had guests at our fighter practice on Thursday and now I'm raring to go with the melee season again!

It didn't suck. Except for the part when he called me fat. Hello? Weight Watchers... I only gained back about 5 pounds. *sigh* Whatever. I'm looking forward to the fighting season. The only sucky thing is that I have to miss the first Unbelt practice, and WE are even hosting it! Grr, grr, grumble, grr! BUT - I will be on a cruise with my mom and older sister so that part's o.k.! I will be leaving next Thursday for Disney World then the 4 night cruise. I am soooo excited! My boss (in a drunken state) gave me $20 so I can tan a little. Is it any wonder that I love my bosses? He mentioned again about me taking the Series 7 test so I can be licensed and do more for them so that's cool. I'll just be putting off my law schoolin' for a little while, I suppose.
My sisters and their families are coming over to open presents tomorrow and then the twin and I (and her husband and 2 daughters) are driving down to Florida to spend Christmas with my dad. I haven't seen him in a few years and its been far too long since I saw him on Christmas. He had an affair and then left my mom - you know, issues, and such! So its going to be wierd. I like the new wife - I like to call her the step-monster but she's actually nice... so, wish me luck and I'll see you all next year!

moar funny pictures

He doesn't feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most true neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil after all, he would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, he's not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some true neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. True neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion. However, true neutral can be a dangerous alignment because it represents apathy, indifference, and a lack of conviction.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Druids gain power not by ruling nature but by being at one with it. They hate the unnatural, including aberrations or undead, and destroy them where possible. Druids receive divine spells from nature, not the gods, and can gain an array of powers as they gain experience, including the ability to take the shapes of animals. The weapons and armor of a druid are restricted by their traditional oaths, not simply training. A druid's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that they can cast.

Find out What Kind of Dungeons and Dragons Character Would You Be?, courtesy of Easydamus (e-mail)
